Tavern
The Chevis-Samuels Tavern was built in 1820 near Barry, Missouri.
It was built by George Burnett and operated as a stagecoach inn by his sons,
Peter and Glen who later sold it to Judge Thomas Minor Chevis.
The tavern was on the main road to Leavenworth, Kansas and continued
as a successful business until motorized vehicles became commonplace.
The John K. Samuels family donated the building to Missouri town in 1965.
